This is a great product. I really like the Ranger Green and FDE combo. I won't lie the elastic band *is* basically a thicker and stronger hairtie, *BUT* the sewn on tab absolutely justifies the price for me, and it really made it easier to get the sling under the elastic band. People might make a regular hairtie work, but I think a normal hairtie wouldn't be as strong as I'd like it anyway, and this one holds the sling to the gun quite well. It did take awhile to figure out how to put it on the gun in a way that would keep the sling tight but accessible with a pull, but if you're smart you'll figure it out. That's something the NeoMag Sentry Strap has no problem with since it's designed to come undone from a magnet, but that thing is at *least* $35 on sale, $45 on a normal day. On *top* of the product itself, I got a written thank you on the receipt as well as a sample bottle of oil, so that's a hell yeah from me.
For a total price of just under $12, the quality tactical hairtie, handwritten thanks and the complimentary sample bottle of oil beats a Sentry Strap any day in my opinion.
Look, if you don’t have $9 to shell out on a sling retainer, maybe you should just focus on your financials while you Bubba yourself some shock cord…. These guys took the time to stitch a nylon tab on said “oVeRpRiCeD hAiRTiE” and I absolutely think that’s worth $9.
I own a Ferro Concepts Slingster and the bulkier quick adjustment tab on the Slingster (for me) is better mitigated (in terms of width off of the rifle) with a small protruding nylon tab that these dudes at Kentuckiana took the time to make.
I tried using shock cord and tying it off in a loop but didn’t like the idea of having a loop protruding from the gun.
If you don’t have $9, don’t buy gun accessories; but if you do and you need a minimalist no-snag sling retainer, this is it.
Would give another star if I could. Quick shipping, great customer service, badass sticker, and a free bottle of gun oil with my purchase.
